About Newzozoland

My name is Sören Petersen. I’m a 24 years old French guy. I have been studying German and English at the University, and I always have been attracted by travelling, discovering new cultures, learning languages.. It just make any routine much more interesting!

I spent about 5 years living and working abroad. One summer in Spain (Mallorca Island); 6 months in Dublin, Ireland; and the 4 last years in Berlin, Germany. I grew up in the country side, and in the French Alps, so I’m definitely a nature lover.. This is one of the main reason to choose New Zealand as next destination. I’m here for 12 months on a working Holidays Visa.

The idea of the blog came for several reasons: On my previous trips, i always regretted not to have enough “souvenirs” material, photos and descriptions of all the amazing experiences i had so far. The blog is also a great way to keep in touch and share my adventures with my family and friends (especially when 12 hours time difference make skype contacts harder). I didn’t wish to share this content using the private company called Facebook. And it’s a great and first experience in writing a blog, open to anyone, that would like to learn a bit more about New Zealand, the local culture, things and places to see.. A complete feedback from a traveler, that might motivate other people to come visit this fantastic country.

Newzozoland? Its a contraction of New – Zealand and my own nickname “zozo” (Sören > Sösö > Zozo).
